Dr Ciarán Reilly is an historian of nineteenth and twentieth century Irish history with particular interest in the Great Irish Famine; country houses; landed estates, and the Irish Revolution, 1912-23.
Dr Reilly’s research has led to a number of important public engagements including conferences, public lectures, schools liaison and a host of television, radio and print media activities. His research collaborations include those with university colleagues in Ireland, Britain, Finland, South Africa and the USA. He is a founding member of the European Forum for the Study of Country Houses and Landed Estates and a member of the International Network of Irish Famine Studies and the North American Irish Famine Network.
