To paraphrase from the book itself, psychotherapy is at its best when it is imaginative, fluid and responsive to a troubled world. Pedder's axiom: "after all there is no such thing as peace time", aptly reflects the continued struggle of the profession to contain its conflicts and desire to fragment. How much better though, to use some of that energy in truly widening access to those most vulnerable in our society.
