Children in Therapy: Using the Family as a Resource

Although most mental health professionals acknowledge the value of involving families in children's therapy, many are not trained to work with families and children together. The difficulty they face is finding a mode of therapy that engages both of them in the same session. This work describes the benefits and process of involving families in children's therapy and discusses ways therapists can effectively integrate individual family members into the overall treatment of children.
