What makes despotic leaders tick? How do they become cruel? On a lesser scale why do some people engage in ruthlessly abrasive behaviour in the workplace? The behaviour of such people raises the question of power. This study reveals what happens to human beings when they acquire power and whether the abuse of power is inevitable.
