Shame: Theory, Therapy, Theology

This work examines shame as a social control and discusses means of healing shame and integrating those whose lives are blighted by it. It considers how Christianity has responded to and used shame as a preface to suggesting ways in which religion might alleviate rather than exacerbate shame.
