As integrating spiritual concerns becomes commonplace in psychotherapy, this new edition of Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy leads the way in describing and illustrating its effective clinical practice from the first through to the last session.

Effective clinical practice is emphasized with individual chapters on assessment and case conceptualization, intervention, outcome assessment and termination, and cultural and ethical considerations. The text highlights new developments in spirituality, neuroscience, and moral injury, while continuing to provide a concise, theory-based framework for understanding the spiritual dimension. Readers can use this framework as the basis for competently integrating spirituality in effective, evidence-based psychotherapy practice.

This practical book is essential for clinicians who wish to incorporate spirituality into their practice, as well as students and trainees preparing to practice spiritually integrated therapies.

This outstanding book provides valuable updates and new theoretical research and clinical insights about spiritually integrated psychotherapy. Dr. Sperry, a renowned expert on this topic, has again demonstrated his scholarly and clinical expertise and wisdom in this updated edition. I enthusiastically recommend it to all researchers, practitioners, educators, and students.
P. Scott Richards, PhD., president, Bridges Institute for Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapies; editor, Handbook of Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapies

This thoroughly updated version of Sperry’s classic text is well-grounded in current research on both spirituality and psychotherapy and provides clinically valuable guidance in not just incorporating but actually integrating spirituality into the treatment process. Special attention is given to critical topics including spiritual assessment, case conceptualization, the cutting-edge interventions, outcomes monitoring, and cultural and ethical issues. This book will be a valued resource for students and experienced therapists seeking to deepen their integration of spiritual concerns in everyday clinical practice.
