Extra Info | : | Presenter: John Dall’Aglio This talk will address the challenges of a bridge between Lacanian psychoanalysis and neuroscience by proposing a philosophical and scientific basis for a Lacanian neuropsychoanalysis. Specifically, this involves a view of nature itself not as a seamless One-All, but as a fragmented, discontinuous, and imperfect system full of short-circuits. Moreover, recent work in neuropsychoanalysis which emphasizes the informatic laws which explain both neurobiological and subjective appearances will be shown to be consilient with Lacan’s own musings on the priority of the logic of the signifier. Lacan’s own discussions of and invocations of neuroscience and biology – which are far from conclusively critical – will be reviewed. |
